Motivation Tip – Using Motivation to Boost Your Self Esteem & Self Worth

Hopefully by now after the discussion about the importance of “Boosting Your Self Esteem & Self Worth by Understanding Motivation”, you have came to recognize the fact that you indeed need some motivation to keep you going in life.

Like what we have discussed previously, motivation is essential in all almost all parts of our lives.

Be it achieving our goals or boosting our self esteem, we cannot possibly live a life without motivation. At least for me I cannot imagine that. :)

Now if you have yet to use motivation to boost your motivation, you are obviously missing out a lot.

Below are 3 motivation tips which I personally use to keep my motivation level at its constant peak.

Intrinsic Rewards – Be Mercenary

I am not trying to sound too mercenary here. However the truth is everything you do, you will want to achieve something from it. Be it love, care, money, power, fame or a just specific thing.

So the trick to using motivation to boost your self esteem is to determine what you want to get out of your hard work.

What rewards are you planning to receive after you have accomplished your tasks? Is it recognition, praises from someone or just happiness for someone else?

The truth is it is really alright for you to want something in exchange of your efforts. It is not being mercenary, rather is to be natural.

Personal Motivation

What are you dreams and goals in life? What do you plan to achieve? Are there any great causes you want to participate in?

In short, do what you like. Believe in your dreams, your goals and most importantly, your ability to achieve them.

Personally, I think that with personal goals and dreams to work towards to, one will be more willingly to work doubly hard for them and be inspired enough to achieve what they desire in life.

Combining these personal motivations with the correct amount of positive thinking, you will be placing yourself in a very good position to boost your self esteem and your self worth.

The Linking Game

As what Dr. John Demartini mentioned, there is no procrastinator, only the motivated and the unmotivated.

The truth is different people have different motivations for different things.

What are the things that motivate you? What are the reasons for your motivations? What rewards or feelings do you get from pursuing that interest or goals of yours?

While keeping those rewards in mind, now think about what are the things that don’t motivate you. What tasks or activities are you currently delaying?

Have them in mind? Great, now all you have to do is to play a linking game.

Link up those tasks or projects which you have been constantly procrastinating with the tasks which you are highly motivated to accomplish.

Give yourself as many reasons as possible, how completing those “unmotivated” tasks can bring you closer to accomplishing those tasks which you enjoy doing.

Also, find reasons how accomplishing those delayed tasks can bring you the exact same rewards or feelings as the tasks which you are highly motivated to do.

In simpler words, try to build strong links between your motivated tasks and those unmotivated ones.

Convince yourself why and how accomplishing those unmotivated tasks can bring you the very same results, if not, better results as compared to completing your motivated tasks only.

The trick here is to be playful. Treat it as a game and enjoy the process.

So how you rate yourself in terms of your level self esteem? Care to share with me how you intend to improve or boost your self esteem? :)
