In the last article, “Motivation Tip – Why Is Motivation Important to You Realizing Your Goalsâ€, we have discussed the importance of motivation how it can affect your success in whatever you do.
Now having understood it, it is time to learn ways on how we can increase our motivation, our main driving force that propels us towards our goals, dreams, desires and purpose.
Personally, I have used many various techniques to help me increase my motivation in my goals. For example affirmations, writing down my goals, reading my goals at least 3 times a day, discussing my goals with people whom I trust and many more.
However, the best technique I have found to really skyrocket my motivation and keep my motivation high is through visualization, the use of my imagination.
Now, I am not saying that affirmations and writing down of goals do not help. They do play a very important role in helping me achieve many of my goals.
It is just that by incorporating visualization into your motivation plans, you will be able to better improve your motivation to a higher level within a shorter time.
And not to forget, visualization can greatly help you in keeping your motivation high.
So after having understood that, shouldn’t it be time to start learning how you can use visualization to skyrocket your motivation? If so, then let’s start our discussion proper:
A Picture Speaks A Thousand Words
We heard this phrase often enough, haven’t we? However, how many of us are actually practicing it? Not many, right?
I personally have tried affirmations and writing down my desires to help me focus on my goals. However, I feel that through visualization, I get myself more motivated in taking concrete actions to realizing them.
As I have mentioned earlier, affirmations and writing down of your do help me in achieving many of my goals.
And now with the aid of visualization, I am in a better position to achieve what I desire.
Law of Attraction aside, through visualization, I am able to feel, smell, hear or even taste the end results of my “hard workâ€. It is true that I may not have achieved what I set out to achieve. However, in my mind’s eyes, I can be as successful as I want myself to be.
The only limitation is my creative.
Of course, this holds true in your case too. Everything first exists as a dream, a desire and an idea.
Through visualization, you will be fully utilizing your innate ability to bring your desires, dreams and ideas in your physical reality.
However, all these will not be possible if you are not living in the most powerful nation, your imagi-nation.
You Won’t Get What You Desire Until You Know What You Desire To Get
Vague dreams gives vague results. Specific dreams brings specific results.
Try asking the people around you what they desire most. Listen carefully to their answers.
I tried asking that question to some of my closest friends and below are some examples of the answers which they give me:
- I hope I need not work anymore
- I hope I can have a car of my own
- I will be happy to own a house
- My desire is to become a successful entrepreneur.
Now, look through the answers above. What can you deduce from them? Are the answers vague or specific? Do you think my friends can achieve what they want in life? Well, most likely not, isn’t it?
Take for example the answer, “I hope I need not work anymoreâ€. When you are bed-ridden, can you work? Well, you are hoping that you need not work right?
I am not trying to be rude here. It is just that many people are actually spending their time wishing rather than desiring something.
To desire something is to know exactly what you want, how it will look like and what it feels like to own that desire of yours.
You will be constantly thinking, dreaming and talking about it. You will do everything you are capable of to attain that goal of yours.
That is a desire. Don’t waste time on wishes. They are not going to come true. Rather, spend more time on your desires.
Desires are things you know you must have and not just good to have.
Phew, this article is pretty long. As you can see, I can go on and on if no one stops me.
Hopefully by now, you will come to realize the importance of keeping yourself motivated in your goals and hopefully these motivation tips that I share with you today are of great use to you.
If you have other motivation tips or techniques which you want to share, please do not hesitate to post back here alright? I’ll be exhilarated to hear from you. ![]()
